The English department is dedicated to fostering a love for language through a variety of engaging methods. We believe that learning should be fun and interactive, which is why we incorporate activities such as drama, where students can express themselves and build confidence in their speaking skills. This year, Singapore study tour was held to offer students a chance to immerse themselves in an English-speaking environment, enhancing their conversational abilities and cultural understanding. These diverse approaches not only make learning enjoyable but also equip our students with essential communication skills that will benefit them in their future academic endeavors.
We place a strong emphasis on developing reading skills among our students through a structured and supportive approach. We have implemented guided reading as a core component of our curriculum, allowing teachers to provide tailored instruction that meets the individual needs of each child. This method encourages students to engage with texts at their own level, fostering both comprehension and a love for reading. Additionally, we are proud to have a native English teacher who specializes in teaching reading skills to students in P1 to P3. This expert support enhances our students' learning experience, ensuring they build a solid foundation in reading that will serve them well throughout their English learning journey.
